Since 2007 Entertainment Exchange has been proud to support the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore community outreach events held twice a year at alternating local military installations. This year we worked with USO Metro on their ‘Operation: Community Connection Fall 2014’ held at Fort Belvoir Military Base on Saturday, October 4.
The USO’s Mission is to lift the spirit of America’s Troops and their families. USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore is the largest center chartered by USO. They have ten locations and a “deployable” Mobile USO that provide signature USO services to the nearly 300,000 military members and their families living in the region and the 150,000 who travel through our local airports.
On Saturday, October 4 nearly 340 service members and their families joined USO-Metro for a beautiful fall day at our Fort Belvoir warehouse to meet military neighbors, have some fun and learn about the services offered by community organizations available to them on the installation and outside the gates in the larger community!
DJ Frank from Entertainment Exchange had a great performance at the event! We received the wonderful note below from the event coordinator following the event:
“Thanks so much for coming out to Operation: Community Connection and entertaining with your DJ skills! We couldn’t have asked for a better day and we are glad that you had time in your schedule to show support to the troops and their families!
We had nearly 340 attendees who were able to talk with our 20 partnering organizations to gain valuable resources, play games and do crafts with their kids, and indulge in some tasty refreshments. You can tell from the pictures of the event (and I hope through your interactions during the event) that the service members and families thoroughly enjoyed themselves!”
