Many of us in the entertainment and event industry are quickly pivoting to creating virtual events that seek to feature the same high-quality content with the same amount of pizazz. But as we’re hustling like we’ve never hustled before to pull this off, why not consider how to make your virtual event more evergreen and get more out of it in the long run?

There are a few ways to do this. For one, it’s important to make sure the technical aspects are in place to properly record your virtual keynote speeches, performances or panel discussions. You can’t turn your virtual conference into great post-event marketing collateral if you don’t have quality audio-visuals.

Once your event is over, there are a few ways you can utilize your new content library:

Provide Access for a Fee. Consider these scenarios: Someone couldn’t make the virtual event or someone only wanted to see a few local speakers. With recordings, you can offer access to the recorded videos for a price on your website or another hosting site. This could be one price for one video or various bundles based on the learning tracks or other applicable themes. Why not try to boost your bottom line and embrace a new marketing revenue stream?

  1. Create a YouTube Video or an Entire Series. YouTube is the king of video – so upload your content there! Whether you already have a channel with subscribers or you need to create a new account, this is a great opportunity to explore a new platform and find a new audience.

  2. Cut Videos for Social Media. Facebook is currently prioritizing videos, specifically videos that people seek out and return to repeatedly. Since you’re putting together such quality content for your virtual event, why not take the high points of each local speaker or performance and utilize it for your social audience? Keep each cut between 30 seconds to 3 minutes and add captions for the most engagement on social media platforms.

Regardless of which avenue you choose (or maybe all three!), we can’t stress how much the AV quality needs to be top notch to pull this off well and to maintain brand integrity. If you need assistance or recommendations for how to set up recordings for success, give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.
